If a car Tax disc still has most of a year to run on it would you normally pass it on with the car when selling or keep it and get the refund on it?
Just wondering what most people normally do

I always leave the tax disc on the car,as the car is taxed into the future.
I remove the insurance disc.

In Ireland, unless a car is written off there is no facility to claim a motor tax refund.

I replaced my car last year.

I had not anticipated buying a car when I paid my tax for a full year earlier in the year.

I used this fact it in the final negotiation with the seller and we split the cost of it 50/50.

tax disc must stay with the car, you cannot remove it, the only exception is if the car is being scrapped.
