We have missed one mortgage payment because we forgot to transfer the money in time, we can pay double next month, just wondering does it go down on record anywhere that we missed a payment?

Why don't you get in touch with your bank, explain and ask them to represent the payment in a few days rather than wait until the following month?

Only on the Banks internal system. You need to contact the Bank to advise that payment will be made by next month.
