i`m sorry if i`ve posted this in the wrong section as its my first post.

I am married with 3 kids under the age of 16.I`m 42yrs of age and have worked for the last 25 years.I met my wife 10 years ago and when we started living together my wife stayed at home and looked after the kids while i continued to work full time. All this time we qualified to claim working tax credit and child tax credit.Last year we swapped roles and now i`m the househusband while my wife is in full time employment.Since i finished work i`ve had a few people telling me that i have to sign on so that my stamp can continue to be paid.At first i told them that i didnt have to but now i`m starting to get a bit worried.I wondered if anybody could give me some advice please.
thank you

Are you in the UK. As this is an Irish site you may find more accurate replies elsewhere.
However if in Ireland you cannot sign on unless you are available for work and actively seeking work.
If you intend to continue being a house-husband you should register as a Homemaker.
