Do I have to pay vat on books imported from the UK?

I have just received a bill for VAT from An Post.

The only item I am expecting is an order of books and the value is about right.

I did get an art catalogue before and they charged me VAT and apparently that was correct.

How do I tell An Post that there is no VAT due? there doesn't seem to be any way of doing it online.

Do An Post email you? I got a letter in the post when I had a delivery stopped for VAT due. Granted, they wouldn't have had my email address.

True. Usually I get a card. but I presume they email you if you have an email address.

I double checked by going to an Post website and it is genuine.

I decided to progress through the payment options as far as I could without paying it. But then it said "see customs charge" and this showed me what it was and it was just something I had forgotten I had ordered.
