Dixons return

Hi all. I've recently returned a Liteon HDD DVD recorder to Dixons. It was in the 11 month of the warranty and had major problems recently although it has given me some minor problems before. Reading their returns policy I thought I was entitled to a refund or at least a replacement by a equivalent but more reliable brand but they insist on sending it for repair.

This particular brand is very buggy and has not been sold by dixons for a while now (6 months or so.) Should I push for refund/replacement or will I have to put up with a repaired (don't think this is possible) machine. Also if it is repaired I will be covered by warranty for three months only and I can envisage it working ok for a few months and going belly up again leaving me with nothing.

Thoughts appreciated.

They are within their rights to send it for repair. If they fail to repair, or even fail to repair within a certain time frame, then they will replace. The repair should be warranted for a period, best check this out with them.

Bought a 42" plasma there in Jan, it died last month. If they don't have the required part by Monday I get a brand new one.
