Dissolved Ltd Company---Business name

I want to register a business name but a Ltd company has the same one only thing is they are "dissolved".Does this mean im free to use the name?
I emailed the CRO but have no response yet.

Yes, there is nothing to stop you from registering the name for yourself. Business names can be duplicated.

I see,thanks.I was under the impression that a Ltd company had protection of there name.

A limited company does have a level of protection over the COMPANY name, but not over a business name which that company has registered. For example, the company name "JOE BLOGGS SHOE SALES LIMITED" is not available to others, but if that company also registered the business name "BLUE SUEDE SHOES", the company is not protected against others also registering the same business or trading name.
