I seem to recall that over many years an ex employee of one of our major banks proposed annually various resolutions calling for the dismissal of the banks directors and made vocal criticisms at the AGM. Has subsequent events proved that maybe there was some merit in his action which at the time was more or less laughed at

I attended at many AGM'S. Those old pharts in the room were tripping over themselves to lavish praise on the top table. Hands up to pass every resolution. Over the free glass of wine and salmon sandwich afterwards they could feel important when the chairman shook their hand.
Then you had the big business shareholders, pension funds etc only too happy to vote in every resolution, including directors remuneration.
Now the old phart has nothing and the top table are enjoying the high life in Marbella, Barbados etc, playing to another audience of wannabees.
