Dispute over consent for operation

Just wondering if someone who is next of kin gives consent to an operation and another relative objects to the operation what happens? For example if a husband or wife gives consent to an operation on behalf of a spouse and a child or brother or sister objects will the doctors do the operation on the basis that the husband or wife as next of kin has given consent or will they refuse to do it if another family member objects?

No one can actually ever consent for another person, that removes their autonomy, even if they lack capacity.
Doctors have to go on the best interest of the patients, informed by various family relatives, but noone has a veto.
Doctors will gladly leave judges sort out that issue for them, via ward of court.
