Hi all,
Hoping someone can help me out....I want to remove an unused lpg gas basket fire and be able to use the fireplace with an open fire.
We have never used the fire since we moved in 5+ years ago, gas pipe is fed from a cylinder out the back (which is empty, we have never replaced) through one room, into sitting room into the floor of the fireplace where it feeds into the basket. All pipes are boxed in.
I want to take out this gas fire and use the fireplace with an open fire occasionally.
Given the fact that it hasnt been used in 5+years is it just a case of removing the basket and cementing over the gas feed or does anything else need to be done?
Obviously, will need to get chimney cleaned before using an open fire
also.
