I had to take out my old dishwasher, disconnect it and put it back in. It was straightforward it has two feeeds water and electricity. The electricity is obvious, plug it out, and for the water in my case I traced to which pipe it had been connected and there was a simple valve that I could switch off. The valve was under the sink and feeding of the mains water.
