Discoloured dry dash-house exterior

Hi

I just moved into a new house recently. The house is covered with a dry dash finish ( white and brown stones) Unfortunately at the front of the house some of the dry dash and plaster underneath is very discloured with an orange colour. ( Possible high iron content in water used to mix the plaster) The overall appearance is pretty poor. Anyone any ideas on how we could improve the appearance. Is there anyway of bleaching or cleaning dry dash?, or will we need to chip it off and re-do over again. Is it possible to paint over dry dash?

Hi Michelle. Yes, dashing can be painted. Alternatively you can scratch another coat of white sand and cement. Next day apply the butter coat and redash. Or, you can wet dash on top of the old wall in just one coat. But presumably you want the whole house exterior to be uniform.
Keep the faith! Simeon
