Disclaiming a bequest. Impact on inheriting % of residue

If someone is left a property in a Will but they wish to disclaim the bequest, can they then receive a percentage of the property through the residue of the Estate?

I'm open to correction, but I don't believe disclaiming an inheritance has to be all or nothing.

It does depend on how the will is written though.

You can disclaim a bequest of the disponers collection of Beano Annuals.

The disclaimed benefit then falls into the residue bucket (if there's no other clause). If the residue is left between you and three others, you now have a 25% share in the Beano Annuals.
