my wife discarded the keyring with the numbers of my new
Octavia car keys,just wondering how big a deal is this,i would
have thought chassis number would suffice??or should i chase
up replacement of above immediately?

If you need new keys, you ring a Skoda dealership and tell them the chassis (VIN) number. They get the keys from Skoda and then program ('chip') them on-site. Thus, no big deal if you've lost the numbers.
