I've been on disability allowance for a number of years with a form of mental illness.I've spent that time between living at home and in rented accommodation.My Dad retires soon and wants to buy me a small place of my own, circa 100k and was wondering does anyone know how this would affect me or my Dad in financial terms.Would he be expected to pay some kind of gift tax and would this affect the disability allowance I recieve.Many thanks for your time.
