a friend of mine recently received circa 1k from social welfare in addition to her weekly benefit . More significantly she has now been told that she will receive circa 12k or 34 Euro per wek for life. She is back working again but received a call from SW to assess her disability.
 
They offered her 12k or 34 E per week for life. They assesed her to be 15% disabled even though she is back to work and did not look for this extra benefit. Anyone know about this?
 
Your friend has been assessed for Disablement Benefit, which can be paid in addition to other Social Welfare payments, or indeed, in addition to working income. It's usually paid to persons who have had an accident in work, or have contracted a disease through their working environment (e.g. working with asbestos).
