Disability allowance

A quick question regarding disability of a relative. My dad is currently in a nursing home and not very mobile but I do like to take him out to see family / doctors etc frequently. I have heard on a number of occasions that there is a grant available to get a car or to modify an existing car to allow me to do this but I don’t know who to contact or what exactly I can buy. Question like - does it need to be a new car ? can it be a car or does it need to be a wheel chair accessible van ? would be a starting point for me.

Thanks Welfarite but this is teh information I have so far. I know that a disabled person can get a car for mobility but how do i find out about the possibility of me getting one to drive him as he's not able any more.

Have you got your own car, or how do you take him for visits etc..?
