Disability Allowance Appeals

I am appealing a disability allowance entitlement for which a mistake was made by a social welfare officer. This appeal is ongoing since May of this year. On making enquiries from the appeals office i was informed that this takes time as we are now into September i am wondering just how long this usually takes, if anyone has any information in a similar circumstance i would be grateful for feedback.

what was the mistake [if its not too personal]. the appeals procedure takes about 2 months. i am on d/a and i went through the process of appeal.
