Disability allowance and terminal illness

Apparently there is a backlog on decisions for disability allowance and they are only now looking at the January applications. Is this correct? In the case of a terminal illness is there a way/procedure to speed it up. Who would one need to speak to? Or how does one go about it.

Also in the case of a business that cannot continue how would that be assessed, don't think there are any real assets.

Assuming you have sent all the supporting medical info in with your application I would contact the Disability Allowance Dept in Longford quoting your prsi number and request that your application be given priority.

I think this is one of the few occasions when your local TD could help. Good luck Browtal
