dilemma with speakers

Hi all this is my first post, a friend in the know put me wise to this board,

my problem is I ordered speakers off a reputable german company
www.thomann.de

they were pre-orders in aug, so the initial price on them was 207 euro,
what i was interested in was the wattage, 800 watt rms.
so delays ensued because of arrival times ( new speakers ) and I went online and spotted that they had changed the names of the speakers and the ones I wanted had gone up to 258 euro with a name change and the ones I ordered had dropped to 400 watt rms. so I e-mailed them begging them not to send the wrongs ones, will paste the mail I send in under this.
so anyways the sent out the wrong ones which were sent back. now the proper ones have been re-stocked and the price is now 359 each? thats some difference. they still have my credit card money, but I don't feel I should have to pay the extra money, here's the last mail from them

please please help

Hi Richard,

The 4 BEHRINGER E 1800 have arrived back with us today. I have placed an order for the 4 BEHRINGER B 1800 X PRO, I have put the 828€ towards the new order. The difference in cost is 583€, please could you advise if you still whish to purchase the 4 BEHRINGER B 1800 X PRO and if so please could us with your card details for payment as we don't keep these on record.

If you no longer whish to purchase the 4 BEHRINGER B 1800 X PRO then please advise.

Hi
was just on your website and I want to make sure you send me the 800watt rms
bins not the 400 watt ones
you original order is for the E1800X euro lives.. But this now states its
400 watts rms?
and the E1800 pro is 800watt rms. I do not mind paying the extra, I just
want 4 of the 800watt rms bins. can you ensure this happens?

Common problem with Thomann, they really dont have a good name with larger gear. Buy small and theyre great, with larger gear you dont even know whether youre getting new or not (returns). Have had awful trouble with them in the past and so now try to source everything local and Ive nearly always been able get a like for like price on larger items when purchased locally by shopping around. Save your money on those behringers and contact John keating in ballymount sound hire and see if hes got anything similar, behringer wouldnt be top end so theres a lot of similar brands out there. Also try aquarius sound in liexlip, theyre probably the biggest suppliers of DJ equipment in the country.

Its difficult to get in contact with anyone over there in thomann, but keep ringing til you get someone, they are quite nice on the phone and they should refund the money. They did for me when I had issues with them!!

also try
www.musicstore.de
www.music123.com
for alternative prices that Ive bought from in the past. Always try locally first though, you'll find you can get a deal by saying "I can get that on thomann for XX".

theer'll be no problem getting a refund, but i want these speakers at the price I oredered them at, not at the new price, surely they can't get away with that. besides if it is for that new price instead of 4 of those I'll just buy two of these

its just the point of it, I'm a good customer, as in this year i have spent 15k with them. I'll just buy everything from musicstore instead but will also spread the word to all my friends, seeing as I am in a large gigging band with lots of contacts across Ireland, and seeing as rather knowledgeable on all things music, it could be rather detrimental for them here.
but don't wanna be bittter just want what i ordered for the price I ordered it

Did you not say that you didn't mind paying the extra?

yeah the extra when it was 258 euro, but not when they bumped it back up again to 349 euro.
thats 142 euro extra per speakerover the original 207, I'm hoping they'll send me the speakers for 258. won't pay 349 for them,
edit- sorry about that worded that a tad strongly. just saying not too impressed by this stunt, especially when i'm such a good customer, probably would have spent another ten k euro there this year, but will be reluctant on the strength of this.

Hi richie,
If you havent already Id really try ringing them and speaking with someone over there if you could. If youre only conversing with them via email they'll take their time and not be too particular so they may have even made a mistake with the price. I got a quote off them when I was buying a rig just over a year ago and 1 or 2 of the prices just didnt make sense, e.g. They quoted me 140euro a pce for 10m speakons!!!

140 for speakons? more like 14euro. so much for germany efficency. still no reply from them, will have to ring tomorrow
