Digital TV - Freeview?

Hi There,

What is the best digital tv package to get for someone who is not a tv addict? i.e. i'm not interested in all the movies etc. - I would just like to be able to get a good reception for the bbc & the bbc radio. I live in Wexford. Is freeview the thing to get? Can we get that here in Ireland?
 
For a once off fee you can get a dish and card that will give you access to the channels you want.

www.satellite.ie (among others) offer packages. Or you could install it yourself.
 
Oh, that's a pity, I thought i could just buy a freeview box and that was it. The tv man was here today you see and made where I live (apt) digital-ready. Now I'm not sure what to do. He says he'll charge another 259 euro for a box. Is that too much?
 
Calico Where are you located?. What did the tv man do to make your house digital ready? Was he an NTL person?. And what exectly are you getting for your 259 euro?
