Hi

Have just gotton a Philips Cordless Digitial phone (40 euro in argos)...its dead handy but the reception does not seem to be as good.....I have to really strain to hear the person on the other end and if there is any backround noise in my house its nearly impossible to hear

Is this the case with all cordless phones or would it imporve with a more expensive phone ?
 

Philips DECT phones are usually good. Could be a dodgy model - why don't you try getting a replacement one from Argos to see if it us just the individual unit?
 
Have a Philips cordless phone, it says CS2 on the handset (comes with an answering machine), also from Argos. Its very clear and the speaker button is pretty good too.
