Dictaphone/voice recorder advice

Can anyone offer some advice on choosing a dictaphone please?
I bought one only to discover that you cannot pause recording.

Could anyone recommend a dictaphone with a pc connection that could be used with voice recognition software for conversion to text? Must be able to pause while recording, the one I bought has no pause function?

God not sure but GF recently bought a Phillips in Argos and she is very happy with it. Don't knwo about the pause function though
