So - recently I was trying to dial a freephone number from my mobile.

Was unable toi do do from my mobile so i assumed i needed to get some setting changed by vodafone.

SO i rang then uo and they explained that my phone was fine.

Apparently the problem lies with teh fact that obviously this freefone number is free only to teh person ringing - teh company that provides the freefone foots the bill.
And due to the fact that calls from mobile phones are more expensive they don't allow them.

This si ridiculous.
Many people these days don't have any landline at all.

he very eastthey should provie is an alternative number to ring for mobiles. Most people don't give a mnkeys about the savings of a few cents for teh phone call anyway.

I'm flabbergasted that these companies haven't twigged this !

This doesn't apply to all 1800 numbers. It's a case-by-case issue as to whether they will accept mobile calls. You should make your views known to the company in question.
