DFS Bargaining

Has anyone any experience with negotiating a discount from DFS when buying a suite of furniture? It was one of the first stores i visited and when i asked the advisor about a discount he said there was no chance of any discount from dfs ever. I didnt push him to hard as i hadn’t decided to purchase anything from them at that stage. I find it very hard to believe that there is no room for negotiation as i have managed to get discounts from every other big store i have purchased from!

If anyone has any experience with dfs, especially the belfast branch, your thoughts would be much appreciated!

 
How do their prices compare to other stores? If they are cheaper/cheapest then perhaps their margins leave no room for bargaining. Or maybe it's just their policy not to offer further discounts. Why do you not believe the sales assistant if they said "no"!?
