Device for making footwear snowproof

The Irish Times shop is selling them. A bit steep at nearly €30 though

Thanks . I wish I could find out where I can physically go to pick some up. It could be a long time waiting for the post to arrive in this weather.

The Great Outdoors and 53 degrees north had them but both are sold out. GO due a delivery tomorrow though

I feel a Blue Peter moment coming on, time for the toilet roll tube, cornflakes box and roll of double sided stickey tape!

OK Sustanton ... I have the "toilet roll tube, cornflakes box and roll of double sided stickey tape". What do I do next?

Rte were doing the snow gadgets yesterday and had those things that you can put on over your shoes, stretchy rubber with spikes (a bit like the spikes on old golf shoes). Perhaps the RTE website might be worth a try.

It was the Daithi O Shea and your woman programme at around 5p.m.

Snow and Rock in Dundrum Shopping centre are expecting a delivery on YakTraxs on Thursday, but as their warehouse in England is snowed in, they cant guarantee this.

Thet advised me to ring in advance of going there to check if they have stock.

A friend of mine made me laugh when she showed up at my house recently wearing a pair of socks (yes, plain, thick socks) over her boots! Cheap and did the trick apparently: not very elegant though but for something so seasonal, I can understand she did not want to invest much money in this.
