Developing a medical condition after life insurance has started?

I got life insurance as part of getting a mortgage a few years ago. At the start all medical details were filled in honestly. I've developed a medical condition since that would have caused higher premiums had it occurred beforehand.
Am I obliged to tell the insurance company?
If I am, are they allowed put the premiums up because of it or was that the risk they took at the start?

No , no and yes imo.

I would agree with this answer. You would be refused or have higher premiums if you applied now and if you didn't reveal your condition if applying now they could and probably would refuse to pay out.

But at the time you didn't know of this condition, you answered honestly and they worked out your premium accordingly. They cannot now up the premium.

Thanks for replies.

The only downfall then is that I won't be able to change insurance companies as they would put up the premiums for a new customer.
