Hi,

I got contracts from my solicitor today and my name and address are not spelled correctly.

Would I be wrong to request a new set of contracts with the correct information on them?

Thanks,
Neil.

You mean contracts from the opposite party (buyer/selller assuming that you are a seller/buyer)? Did you mention this issue to your solicitor?

I ran the solicitor today and they said it's not a problem they can amend the existing contracts.

Would this be true?

a contract can be amended by hand without difficulty i take it they were only minor errors, the vendors solicitor gets the info from the auctioneers who often have wrong details or have only dealt with one person where there are 2 buying, the contract is less important it is the Deed transferring the property to you that must be accurate. let you solicitor make the changes and on returning the contracts to the vendor for signing the changes will be noted.

Thanks, just wanted to be sure as it's my first experience of anything like this :)
