i had a hell of a time trying to deposit this check i recieved from my grandmother last weekend, its one of those redemption checks from stocks investments it is made out to me and her, but this is no AND or OR. the bank wouldn't take it stating that even if i had her endorsement, we didnt have a joint account and i would not beable to deposit the only way i could would to be go to the bank it was issued from which i believe is a bank out in boston or atleast thats what the check says "payable at X bank". which wouldnt be a problem but i am currently stationed in GA, my Grandmother lives in NY and the bank in is MA...
i read on line that if a check with two names and doesnt have "and" and "or" between our names i shud beable to endorse it myself and deposit it into my account like she intended..
for the record the check reads like this
HER NAME
MY NAME
ADRESS

can someone help me should i go back to the bank and try to talk them into taking it as it is mine check and they seemed pretty clueless on the thing or what should i do?

Hi Ryan.

Were it an Irish cheque (that's how we spell the word) you might get some useful advice; this is an Irish site.
