Deposit Paid in 2002

Hi All
Would anybody know the answer to this one ?
I booked a Function room in a Hotel in 2002 to hold a party and paid a €500 deposit
I cancelled the party, I did not get by deposit back but they said I could use it off another room on another date.
I would like to hold a party this year in the Hotel
Do you think there is any chance I can use the deposit ?
I have not approached the Hotel yet ?
 
I imagine so if they said you can use it on another date.
 
Do you have a letter proving they said you could re-use deposite.
Just incase there is any memory loss on their part !!!
 
I would imagine it would have to be recorded somewhere, or someone will have to have a good memory!

Did you get a receipt from the hotel?
 
Do you recall to whom you paid the money? Did you pay by cheque or by credit card?

I'd try to get the price they currently charge for funtion rooms as they may charge you a premium for the room and then apply your deposit to bring the price back to what they would normally charge. maybe!
