Deposit on farm equipment

I paid a deposit on farm equipment last year in the mean time the sellers sold it to someone else without informing me and having no similar replacement for it. I now want my deposit back but they are making lame excuses saying the boss man isn't around and he'll ring you when he gets back which he never does. Any suggestions how to resolve it?

If it was last year I fear for your funds.

Sit in yard till Boss man comes in, request your funds , if not forthcoming and its a reasonable sum you are owed , just go to solicitor and sue him.

Last April but the equipment was due to be installed in November which it wasn't when I called to find out what the holdup was I was told the equipment was sold and that they would have a replacement before the end of March which they never did.
