Deposit and fees - help urgent

i put a deposit 5k on a hse and 3 weeks i decided to pull out - am i entitled to all the deposit back and i also asked a solicitor to look after my affairs. said the fee would be 1.3k plus searches. Do i owe him money???

Yes you can get your deposit back as long as you haven't signed contracts. Check with your solicitor as to how much you owe him/her for the work to date - if contracts haven't been received yet it should be minimal.

Hopefully the first step you made when you decided to pull out was to inform the solicitor, if not, do so ASAP. This will stop any further work being carried out without need (adding more to the fee).
