My 12 Month Interest First A/C with PTSB expires on September 4th so I'm looking for advice on options.
I don't envisage needing the money in the immediate future but I don't want it locked down too far into the future either. Also want a low risk option too.
Well I assume you have heard of PTSB, which offers the highest rates for <= 2 years.
Based on the 20-25k, I think the very first one might suit you. I'm guessing at a two year term, as you say no immediate access needed but don't want to lock in for very long term:
Permanent TSB: Interest First Savings Account/
1 Year 2.19% **High Rate**
1 Year 6 Months 2.25% **High Rate** 2 Years 2.25% **High Rate**
Minimum: €10,000.
This account pays interest within a month of account opening.
Deposit Protection: €100,000 via Irish Deposit Guarantee Scheme.
Yes I currently have a 1 Year interest first with PTSB.
I was slightly attracted to the 3 Year An Post Saving Bond but as I'm not paying tax I'm unsure how that works out. CiaranT has it worked out based on various levels of tax
