Dentist Prescription Costs

Hi,
Recently got charged €45 for a dentist prescription. Antibiotics on prescription cost less that €2.50. Initial visit cost was €50 for standard clean and polish. So total visit cost was €95 for less than 15mins works.What is the average cost of a dentist prescription? Should it be the same as a doctor prescription. I'm going to query price with my dentist.

If you went to Newry, you would have saved a huge amount. Basicaaly, you were ripped off.

A prescription issued up north is effective down here. I get my dental treatment done in Newry and its a huge saving.
