Dentist has submitted bill over a year after treatment

Hey All,

I am wondering how long after you recieve a service are you liable for a bill?

For example -

My friend had some dental work done over a year ago, at the time her partner was doing some electrical work for the dentist and so it was the belief that because of this her dental work would be free, and his electrical work free and vica versa.

She had a messy break up with her partner and now she got a bill for €1,200 for dental work carried out over a year ago, it is her belief that her partner told the dentist to bill her (they are friends).

Does she have any way to get out of not paying this? I mean she heard nothing for over a year?

Statute of Limitations says six years.

And she has this in writing and she can produce witnesses? And if thye ever went to Court........

Well she could just refuse because she does not expect to have to pay her bills. And anyway her partner was really mean to her and he's obviously just told the dentist to look for his money even though he got a quid pro quo........
