Denied Credit Card

I have no debt and a good income and yet Halifax denied me a credit card. I fail to see the point in their logic, to deny me a card. Would it be because I have only lived in Ireland for less than two years?
 
you could ring them and ask why

the answer is you do not meet their current lending policy

Have you ever borrowed and repaid a loan? If not perhaps that's the problem - no evidence of a good track record.
