I ordered a leather suite from Reids 3 weeks ago - was told 3 to 6 weeks for delivery (also wrote on order docket) - they are now telling me that i won't have the furniture till mid august !!!
Their terms of sale say there is a 50% charge for cancellations but surely i would be entitled to demand a full refund because of the lenghty delivery terms ?
The terms of sale would also include the fact that delivery was to be made within a six-week timescale. The company has fundamentally altered the contract by telling you that the suite will not be available until mid-August.
You need to decide whether you are prepared to wait until then or not.
I believe you would be within your rights as a consumer to cancel without penalty.
