Delay in prcessing applications??

Hi all
We applied on for a mortgage top up three weeks ago but have been told that there's still no word back. It was with the ICS Building Society. This time frame sounds a bit long to me to be honest, especially when we were told it would take 2 days. Every time we phone they say, there should be a decision tomorrow.

Is anyone else experiencing problems with delays from them and is there any way we can hurry up the process?

Are ICS the best value available for your particular loan or have you other reasons for going and sticking with them? If not why not just apply elsewhere?

Well it was a mortgage top up, so I presumed we had to apply to them for the loan, as that's who our mortgage is with.

Sorry - missed the top-up bit and assumed it was a new mortgage. Still - you could always consider going elsewhere since some lenders may offer better value, service and pay some or all of the legal fees.

It will take too long, and we've waited long ebough already really. Is there anyone that I can complain to about the length of time it's taking?

Yeah, ICS bank. Tell them you're unhappy and you want a decision one way or the other. If your credit worthiness is good you should have no problem bringing your business elsewhere. Bear in mind also that if they do approve and issue an offer letter you will probably still have to sort out additional life cover, house valuation ,house insurance and meet with your solicitor. That all takes time - I reckon you could be looking at three to four weeks from loan offer to drawdown unless you have most of the above already sorted.
