Defective Title Deeds

Hi

I am in the process of buying a house and unfortunately we have an issue with the title deeds.

Is there a way around this? I have looked at title insurance. Would a bank accept this once they get indemnity from the policy?

Sorry if this has been posted before? Any help greatlt appreciated.

What is the issue with the title deeds. I have a query on here about lost and reconstituted title deeds and if they cause problems in buying and selling property.
Our mortgage lender lost deeds and they have mentioned something about taking out an insurance policy. Still have not figured out what it would cover and who would be claiming from it, and why it is necessary as I keep being told that reconstituted deeds are as good as originals though it has been mentioned by solicitor that Land registry might not be willing to register transfer from Registry of Deeds on full title but only Possessory title for 20 years. Possessory title sounds awfully like squatters rights to me. Could anyone please help on this.
