Can anyone recommend a decent 3 starish hotel to stay in Paris, close to main atrractions and public transport is all that is required. Thanks.

Hi,

We stayed at this hotel

based on reviews on tripadvisor. We found the rooms to be small but that seems to apply across the board in Paris, but apart from that we were very happy staying there. As the reviews say, the bathrooms & location are excellent, but the sound proofing between rooms isn't.
I haven't stayed anywhere else so can't compare.

Can highly recommend a cruise on the Seine while you are there. It may seem expensive but we thought it was worth every penny.

Enjoy!

Have you read the Key Post on Paris and read the recent thread on Paris in this forum?

Stayed in a really nice hotel called the Eiffel Kennedy last January. Was about 10 minute walk to nearest Metro which was a pain, lots of hotels ive stayed in have been 2-5 mins away! When its cold its not much fun! Great thing it was in a residential area about 2 mins walk from the Seine and 20 from the Eiffel Tower, you had to cross a really nice bridge which left you just where the souvenir shops start! They did a fab breakfast aswell! As much breads, cakes, quiches as you look so you could stock up for the day. Price wise bout 150 a night for the room. Was very small but thats not unusual!

Hotel L'Academie is quite charming and in an excellent location and depending on when you are travelling have great rates. See academiehotel.com for more info otherwise checkout parishotels.com to search by either price or location.

We stayed here and it was grand...nothing fancy but nice and quiet and in a good spot...very reasonable

didnt stay at this hotel but just got an email from a colleague about it. trip advisor seems to like it too. Might be worth checking out...

According to themselves..."HOTEL OPERA CADET IS LOCATE IN THE HEART OF PARIS WITH IN WALKING DISTANCE OF THE OPERA AREA AND CLOSE TO ALL MAJOR ATTRACTIONS."

I stayed at the Hotel de Roubaix last year, it is very reasonable, friendly and central! (Mariais area)

We want to Paris in January and stayed in Les Jardins d'Eiffel for 2 nights, just 900 meters from the tower. It was perfect, decent sizes rooms and en-suite,plenty of bakerys and restraunts nearby, and an Irish pub around the corner. Best of all was the view, open the balcony doors and there was a clear view of the tower,at night it was spectacular when it was all lit up. The Metro was near at hand, and the price, just €120 for a double room for 2 night, book through lastminute.com,great deals.
