My mother is deceased and left vodafone shares in her will. I am the executor of her will.

Not sure what can be done with shares in a case like this - is the norm to transfer them to soneone else or cash them in ?

Also what is the procedure ? who do you contact ?

thanks in advance

As far as I remember, when my dad died ten years ago, we handed over his share certificates to the solicitor (as part of his estate) and he then organised the transfer of them into my mother's name.

Thanks Nolo77 but looking for the non solicitor option....not happy with what we have been charged for the rest of the estate - percentage of the estate no matter how much work he did.

If it easy I will try to sort out the shares myself....

Pica, had the same problem with my fathers will.I believe solicitors
are obliged to give you the option of a fixed fee or % of the estate.
If you shop around and with all these unemployed solicitors I am sure
you would get a deal to suit.
