Hi,

I hope someone can advise. I have received a letter from Ulster Bank re an alleged outstanding debt which no payments have been made on since 2009 also no contact in regards to this debt until 2014. I received a letter to my place of work last year from UB to say this debt had been passed to Cabot, then 6 months later a letter to day it had been passed to Everyday Finance and now a year on a letter to say it has been passed to BCW. I have not responded to any of these letter as I feel this debt is statute barred at this point. I am concerned that the letters are being sent to my place of work. If I continue to ignore them what is lightly to happen?

What should i do, if anything?

The debt looks like it's just been sold on from one company to another. It's standard for te debt collector to just keep sending letters to addresses in the hope you will bite. If you have no intentions of paying it (regardless of reasons) then ignore it but be prepared to be possibly 'doorstepped' at you place of work so have you story ready for anyone who could be in earshot or sight. They should not discuss anything or say anything in front of other people but it's a fine line what can be intimated.
