Debt Asset Managements???

Hi I am a newbie so am totally unsure if I am posting this in the right place or not. I was just wondering if anyone has any advice on debt Asset Management. We (my hubbie & I ) are considering using one as we owe a small fortune and are in no position to keep up with payments to all creditors. We have some who have already gone to debt colection agencies. We are both uneployed at the moment so jsut do not have the money to pay back what we owe. None of us has any experience of D.A.Management agencies and are unsure if they are a good idea or not.

Any help or advice would be really appreciated.

They charge alot for what they do. Many banks don't want to deal with them.

MABS would be alot better and it is free.
 
I thought under law that banks have to deal with them? Well that is what we were told when we contacted one D.A.M. We have tried MABS but found them useless, and not at all helpful especially when it came to business loans.
