deals in Kuala Lumpur

Flying out to NZ in a few weeks and we are stopping off in KL for a couple of days on the way back. Just wondering what are the good deals to be got over there. I have heard mobile phones are cheap,even ones which arent even out in Ireland yet? is this true and if so will the phone work over here anyway on our networks? Also,are clothes/sneakers cheap in KL? What im basically asking is what are the things to buy over there that are cheaper than here?

Malaysia is good for buying electrical stuff because as an ex-British colony they use the same plugs and sockets we did. We got our video camera there.

Also great value in glasses if any of you wear them.

KL is full of shops you'll see in any centre here - FCUK, M&S, Mango, Zara, Esprit..... yes they are cheaper. Top name designer stuff is also cheaper if you want to splash out.

Avoid fake designer stuff, likely to be confiscated on return.
