Dealing with the inheritance tax issues of US shares

I am nervous of recommending US ETFs or the likes of Berkshire Hathaway because of the potential exposure to US death duties.

But if someone has directly owned shares and a pension fund, would owning the US shares in the pension fund solve the problem?
