Dead rat possibly in wall cavity

After my last couple of posts re neighbours drain and smoke test, some progress has been made with regard to "the smell".......

Following some investigation re the smell in my kitchen a smoke test has been carried out with no problems identifies, kitchen sink inc unbend taken apart, snake camera down back of and under fridge/cooker/presses etc nothing has been found.

Evidence of burrowing in our sewer outside was found u the drain guy and he blocked up these holes with cement and glass. Due to the fact the a neighbour had a drain/rat problem and has been putting poison down in his garden I think there may be more of them out there than normal and it has been suggested that there is a dead rat in the cavity of our wall, next step is trying to find it.

We a quite confident it is coming from a particular corner/area so a few holes will be knocked in later today and snake camera used to see if it can be found. I'm also pretty sure there is nothing alive in our house - no noise or disruption anywhere. I am at a loss as to what else to do, if it cannot be found does anyone have any suggestions on how to eliminate the odour or speed up the process. Candles and regular air fresheners are not the job I'm looking for. The smell of cotton fresh and a dead rat doesn't make it better so looking for an eliminator rather than something to mask it?

I had the dead rat experience a few years back in my single lad rented accomodation. I saw the rat outside in the utility shed, put poison down and never saw it again. A while later, an odour started to waft up from under the hall floorboards, particularly when the heating was on. It weakened and went after a short while. I don't know what would help the smell for you. If the carcass dries out from the bacteria digesting it the smell will stop. Presumably bluebottles can't access it to eat it up quickly.

I had rats in the walls.
Poison sorted them out but the smell lasted for about 3 weeks.
Plug in air fresheners masked it but they smell nearly as bad as the rats!
