First time to post so hi all,

Just wanted to let you all know that I phoned DCC today and was told that the draw had taken place last Thursday. So the lucky ones should now this week apparently.

So good luck to us all.

Cheers, thanks for info - I was about to ring them. Best of luck!

BE WARNED

Any of you that may get a call from the Docklands Authority regarding affordable apartments in the docklands, the current scheme from the last lot of draws is in a real mess.

We were notified last November that we all had been selected, and there is still no
definite date as to when (if at all) we will get keys.

The docklands are attempting to be listed as fist charge on the deed of our apartments which essentially means we will co own the apartment with them. We are still not sure what the legal implications of this might be yet.
In any normal circumstance the lender is always listed first on the deed then the purchaser, the banks are extremely uncomfortable with unorthodox arrangement and have begun to pull out of the scheme completely, reducing choice for the purchasers.

As it stands there are 90 finished apartments sitting empty now for the last 8 months all because the dockland development authority is a highly disorganised greedy unprofessional organisation.

You have been warned ……

Hi folks

Anyone any update or confirmation on the draw from DCC March 2008 newsletter?

All info gratefully appreciated.

A friend of mine received a call from DCC last week offering her an apartment from the most recent draw. So offers are been made now.

If any of you are offered a place in the docklands take Starkys advice and think carefully before accepting. It is all a complete mess with no sign of progressing to any conclusion. 90 people in purchasing limbo!

Has anybody got a letter to say they were unsuccessful in draw?

In the past they have tended not to send those letters until some time after the draw, due to the fact that a significant percentage of those drawn end up not taking the property.

Hi Starky and Status Assign,

Were people who were previously offered a home in the Docklands (debacle) even entered in the March Draw. Did you get the March Newslettter whilst your offer for the Docklands was pending.

Just wondering? DCC never tell you your place on the panel. Do they? What are they trying to hide?

well as of today i haven't received any letters so i take it i was "unsucessful"!! i was so hoping for the clifden road houses!!

just a quick question, ya know when you buy an affordable house and you pay the council the 3000k deposit then go to the bank to get a mortgage, do you still only receive the 90% - 92% mortgage? what i mean is, are you paying out approx 20k deposit plus the 3k to the council??

Hi Mrsk
i spoke to dcc recently and was told once i had paid deposit to ddda i wasn't entitled to enter another draw.
betty

Well don't give up hope entirely Emma. I'm now sitting in a property that I received an "unsuccessful" letter for originally! People do pull out of the process even after all the unsuccessful letters have gone out ...

Well I didn't go to the bank for a mortgage, I did Shared Ownership with the council.
