Received a transfer value statement from my frozen (Dec 2014) semi state DB scheme which is in deficit but with a funding plan.
I've 2 years to NRD and as increase in value for recent transfer value was up 4.5 % from previous year, I therefore have potential for an increase in value of $20k ish at retirement .
That's if increase holds and there's no 'haircut' of 3% ish as there was when I got a value in 2016.
If we have a likely increase in interest rates (bond price drop) and a resultant decrease in fund assets, this (I presume) could lead to no increase/less/or even haircut on transfer values.
Any thoughts ?
