I am considering moving my PRSA to a Davy Execution Only PRSA to avail of the 0.75% AMC and for the freedom to pick ETF’s.
My current PRSA is passively tracking an index and I’d rather not line the providers pockets with my hard earned cash when I can do this myself. Even though I pay 1% AMC at present, a reduction of approximately 0.2% per annum is significant over the total period of contributions.
The fee structure for Davy’s PRSA is a little difficult to work out exactly however. I spoke with someone at Davy’s, but they weren’t overly helpful so I am hoping someone here with a Davy Execution Only PRSA can answer a few questions:
1) What percentage of fees in total would you expect to pay per annum on ETF’s listed on the ISE? Is it just the TER + 0.75%?
I am considering Vanguard EUR Eurozone Government Bond UCITS &
Vanguard FTSE Developed Europe ex UK UCITS. Both are listed on the ISE.
2) With distributing ETF’s, is the dividend credited to your account?
3) Can the PRSA be set up to automatically purchase a chosen ETF or ETF’s monthly (after you credit the account via standing order) or must you purchase each month manually?
4) I will contribute monthly, but are there any rules, penalties or limits on one-off contributions in addition to regular contributions?
5) Are the costs of purchasing ETF’s on other exchanges exorbitant?
6) Have you come across any hidden or unexpected fees?
7) Any concerns about safety of funds if Davy’s went under?
Thanks!
