I've a daughter just finished her Leaving Cert and can't find a job.. is she entitled to Jobseeker's Allowance?

Does she intend to take up a course come September?

She's not sure what the outcome will be until she recieve's her results and points from her Leaving. Don't think long term prospects are good for her work wise, so will try and get here into college maybe.

But for the short-term no work.

it's means tested so will depend on how much her parents earn if she's living at home

Given the way the CAO system works I am guessing she has already applied to college though? That would indicate an intention to continue in education.

In any case, she can't sign on until three months after her last exam.
If you have just left school you cannot sign on until you are at least 18 years of age and you have been out of school for three months or three months after your last exam if that is later. But you should immediately register with FÁS. If your parent(s) are in receipt of a social welfare payment they can continue to receive the Child Dependant increase for you for these three months.
