Hello there,
I was wondering if anybody could give ne some advise with the following.
I had my gas hob connected last saturday by a company which I found through the local paper. It turned out that a smell of gas was coming from the hob almost immediately. I did not ring Bord Gais until last night as the smell became to distinct, I wasnot sure if it actiually was gas. The guy from Bord Gas came out and was very helpful. He established that gas was leaking in substantial amounts. He disconnected the hob and found two further things. First, no security valve was installed at the out let from the gas coming into the building as it should have. Secondly we can confirm and so he suggests, that following their installation the plumber did not check at the gas meter for the system being gas tight. I do have a receipt from the guy and was on to him this morning. He tried to avoid me for some time until I rang him from a different phone. He was trying to make up excuses and I basically told him that I do not want him near the place anymore as he endangered my and my families life once and that I want my money back. He agreed verbally but then would not agree to a time for today. So I have reason to believe that he is not keen on giving me my money back.
Is there any authority I can report him too. My feeling is he would do the same thing tomorrow to other peopleand it might end in worse circumstances.
Needless to say I'll get my solicitor on to him if he does not pay back my money.
Any comments, ideas or similar experiences?
Thanks,
Cologneboy
